Where and when do you meet?
We meet every Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:30 'ish (sometimes we're having too much fun to leave)
The Sandbar Grill, 64 Weir Street in Taunton.
We have great space in the Tiki Room - the Sandbar's function room.
So how long has this group been around and who goes to it?
Our group started in 2007. We've outgrown three smaller meeting places and are happy to have found lots of room at The Sandbar Grill. Our knitters and crocheters range from 20's to over 50. Some of us are students, some professionals, some married, some single, some with no kids, some with kids (or kids on the way), some with grandkids. You're sure to meet someone you have someting in common with. In other words, there's no reason not to come join us!
How many people are in Taunton SNB? Does everyone go every week?
We have lots of members in our group (currently upwards of 40, but its hard to keep track of the exact number). Some come every week, some join us once in a while, some pop in occasionally. There is always someone there on Wednesday nights to knit or crochet with. Of course the more of us there are the livelier we get, so think of it as a scheduled appointment for your weekly dose of humor and relaxation.
Do you only knit in the winter?
Many of us are true fiberholics and must knit or crochet all year round! There are just too many yarn choices and pattern selections to stop! A few of our members are winter knitters, but we hope to convert them to year round addicts like the rest of us! No matter when or what you knit or how often you attend you're always welcome!
Can I get some help with my knitting or crocheting?
We have all levels of knitters and crocheters in our group. Some of us are great, some of us are beginners and of course everywhere in between. All skill levels are welcome! If you are a beginner, more experienced, or are just trying something you havent attempted before there is usually someone who can lend a hand, needle or hook to keep you going.
Do I need to tell you I'm coming? What if I miss a meeting?
No need to tell us you're coming, and if you miss a week or two, or even a season no problem - just show up! We're just as happy to see newcomers, friends who haven't been around in a while or our diehard regulars.
Is there a cost to join or attend Taunton SNB?
There is no membership fee of any kind to join or attend our group. We do ask that you support The Sandbar Grill and especially be good to our severs by tipping well.
Are you on Ravelry.com too?
We do have a group on ravelry.com under Taunton Stitch and Bitch. If you haven't discovered it yet, Ravelry is a fantastic site for knitters and crocheters. You can network, track your projects and your stash, find projects and friends. If you havent signed up yet do it today!
So what am I waiting for?
Well, considering that we don't send written invitations we have no idea what you're waiting for! So that means we'll see you Wednesday right?!!!
